Kirsten Grey
Hi! I’m Kirsten, a clinical counseling intern in my second year of SJU’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program! In addition, I hold a Master’s in General Psychology from West Chester University and currently work for Prevention Academy, a grant funded project at SJU. This program aims to help kids learn to make healthier choices and explore productive coping skills.
My goal as a therapist is to create a therapeutic space that is warm, welcoming and nonjudgmental. I work collaboratively with clients in setting realistic, attainable goals, and exploring ways to stay on track throughout your healing & exploration journey. I enjoy working with folks across the lifespan experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions and life overwhelm.
Outside of being a therapist, I am also a dog mom, movie buff and bookworm! I look forward to meeting you and joining you on your journey!
Zainab Nyazie
Hi there! My name is Zainab Nyazie and I’m a graduate student at Saint Joseph’s University studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I know firsthand how intimidating seeking out therapy can feel and I hope to create a safe space for my clients to be their true authentic selves. If you are looking for someone to validate your feelings, support you on your life journey, and help you find tools to live a better quality of life, then maybe I’m the right person for you! As the proud child of two immigrants I’m especially interested in working with folks experiencing generational trauma and wanting to break the cycle. I welcome the opportunity to work with clients from all walks of life, each coming in with their own unique stories. I believe in working to find how your existing strengths can be utilized to help you lead a healthier life. As a budding clinician I’m interested in many different approaches to therapy, but prioritize a person-first approach. I also like to incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based approaches if they make sense for you. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read a little bit about me, and if you’re interested in working together let’s chat!
Fun facts:
I LOVE to read and I’m a total Kindle girly (stickers and all). I’m a huge foodie and could eat pasta everyday for the rest of my life. My idea of the perfect day off is sleeping in, getting a yummy breakfast, and then binge watching a good show.
Good music is food for my soul, especially if it’s Bad Bunny.
