You're Not Alone

Does This Sound Familiar?

Being a woman in this world comes with layers. If a few of these feel close to home, you're in the right place.

Your calendar is full, your to-do list is done, and you still feel like you're falling behind.

Anxiety shows up as a tight chest, a racing mind at 2am, or a stomach that won't settle.

You said yes when you meant no, and now you're replaying the conversation for the third time today.

People come to you when they're struggling. You're not sure who you'd call.

A single decision, like what to make for dinner, can feel unexpectedly hard some nights.

You keep telling yourself things will calm down soon. They haven't yet.

If a few of these felt close to home, it might be time to talk to someone.

What We Understand

Being a Woman in This World Comes With Layers

We work alongside the patterns many women carry: doubting your own perception, saying yes when you mean no, chasing an impossible standard, or running on empty for so long it feels normal. Here's a closer look at each one.

01 — Self-Doubt & Gaslighting

Learning to trust your own read on things

Maybe you've been told you're too sensitive, too much, or imagining things that turned out to be true. Over time, that wears down your ability to trust your own perception. Therapy starts with helping you hear your own voice again, clearly and without apology.

Self-Trust Boundaries Validation
02 — People-Pleasing

Unlearning the habit of automatic yes

Saying yes has kept relationships smooth for years, even when it cost you rest, time, or your own opinion. The habit runs deep, and unlearning it takes more than willpower. We work on recognizing the pattern in real time and building a different response.

Boundaries Assertiveness Guilt
03 — Perfectionism

Loosening the grip of never quite enough

Good has never quite felt like enough, and rest can feel like falling behind. Perfectionism often traces back to a time when it kept you safe or earned you approval. We look at where that started, and what it would take to loosen its grip now.

Self-Compassion Rest Achievement
04 — Survival Mode

Moving from getting through to feeling okay

Getting through each day has taken priority over feeling okay for a long time. That way of operating made sense once. Now it may be the reason everything feels harder than it should. Therapy helps you shift out of survival and into something steadier.

What We Help With

Support for What You're Carrying

Every woman who sits across from us is carrying something different. Tap a leaf to see a few of the places we start.

Anxiety & Overwhelm

Racing thoughts, restlessness, or a nervous system that won't switch off.

Life Transitions

A move, a breakup, a new job, or a season that doesn't feel familiar yet.

Burnout & Exhaustion

Running on empty long enough that rest doesn't fix it anymore.

Identity & Self-Worth

Figuring out who you are outside of roles and responsibilities.

Relationship Patterns

Noticing the same dynamic show up in different relationships.

Grief & Loss

A death, an ending, or a version of life you thought you'd have.

Signs It Might Be Time

When Survival Becomes Your Baseline

You've noticed something has shifted, whether it happened gradually or all at once. The overwhelm doesn't let up, and the coping strategies that used to work don't land the same way anymore.

Common reasons women reach out to us:

  • Emotional exhaustion or burnout
  • Feeling disconnected from yourself
  • Difficulty setting boundaries without guilt
  • Anxiety, overwhelm, or panic
  • Holding everything together for longer than feels sustainable

Frequently Asked Questions

The things women ask us most before booking. If yours isn't here, just call.

Do I need a referral to start therapy?
No referral needed. You can reach out directly, and we'll schedule a free consultation to get started.
Do you take insurance?
Guiding Kindness Therapy is a private pay practice. We can provide a superbill so you can seek reimbursement from your insurance provider directly, if your plan allows it.
Is virtual therapy available?
Yes. We offer virtual sessions across Pennsylvania, Florida, and Maine, along with in-person sessions in Bala Cynwyd and Philadelphia.
How long does therapy usually take?
There's no fixed timeline. Some women come for a few months around a specific issue, others stay longer term. We check in on your goals regularly and adjust as needed.
What if I've never done therapy before?
That's completely normal, and most of our clients are new to therapy. Your first session is a chance to ask questions and get comfortable, not a test.
What happens at my first appointment?
We'll talk through what's bringing you to therapy, your history, and what you're hoping will feel different. From there, we build a plan together.
